The Budding Prophetess

April 25th, 2006 by Carl Thomas.

About four months ago my wife and I prayed for a girl to be baptized in the Holy Ghost. I wrote about it here. In the meantime I have seen a complete turn around in this girl€™s life. She has become a flame for Jesus! She was a pretty popular girl at school and decided that following Jesus was more important than being in the middle of unrighteousness. Praise God!

This last Wednesday she and another youth got to bring the message at our Wednesday Night meeting. She preached about righteousness. It was powerful. We had an altar call afterward and many youth came forward to deal with issues in their lives.

My wife prayed for her afterward and spoke some encouraging words to her. She sent me a message the other day regarding that prayer,

hey Carl, your wife spoke truth i relized my gift through out the day.. €¦€¦€¦€¦..but i dnt know y. im not good at all y does Jesus still love me . Carl i need prayer plz. pray 4 me its personal im so confused on life €¦€¦€¦..

My wife and I confirmed to her that there is a gift of prophesy stirring in her. The day she sent me this note, she prophesied to a girl at school much to both of their amazement. She sees her unrighteousness and does not understand why God would choose to use her. (This is so refreshing when compared with people who present themselves as God€™s appointed and anointed.)

So now we get to minister the love of God to this girl who cries out to Jesus, €œSon of David, have mercy on me.€

And Jesus keeps coming.

[...] There was this girl there that had come for the first time the week before.  We send out a 15 passenger van and pick up kids whose parents don’t come to church and she and her friend were on the van.  (little side note, the girl in this post and this post is the one that invited her and her friend to come) Last week we had some group come minister.  The worship was anointed and performed well.  After the message the leader had an altar call for people who want to be radical for God.  She came forward and I felt like my wife was supposed to minister to her.  She was severely troubled. [...] After she laid on the ground doing this laughing crying thing for the better part of 20 minutes she started to get up. I had been praying for a hard case right next to where she was so when she stood up I had her lay hands and pray for this other person. As soon as she did it was lights out. I don’t mean the peaceful kind of falling backwards into the gentle arms of Jesus, I mean as soon as she touched this person they utterly collapsed. I called another person and the same thing, “BAM!” Straight down. The budding prophetess was sitting on a pew so I had her lay hands on her. Immediately she began to weep. I had her lay hands on someone else and after they hit the ground I had her pray for that person some more. [...]
