Florida Outpouring on Front Page

The Florida Outpouring has made it to the front Page of Lakeland’s newspaper.

“Tumors are going to be pulled right out of people’s bodies tonight. … Someone has a growth on their face, on their neck, a woman in this room right now. Put your hand on your face. It’s being burned off by the fire of God. … Somebody else uses an oxygen mask, and the Lord’s touching you tonight. God wants to open your lungs,” he said, while pacing the stage.

A line of people formed at the foot of the stage. Bentley’s assistants talked with them before bringing them up to Bentley, who asked a rapid-fire series of questions of those who approached him - “What are you feeling? What’s happening? Can you move your arm?” He labored over several people who said they had hearing problems, shouting at one, “I command this deafness - go! - in Jesus’ name” and asking, “Can you hear me now?” Responses varied from uncertain to yes.

I went there Saturday night and my report will follow but let me say this, this thing is real.

Here is a video the secular newspaper has on its site:

Another Move in Lakeland

A planned upgrade of my server / computer have severely limited the posting here but all the new hardware should be in shortly.

There is a move of God happening in Lakeland, FL.  I went there two weeks ago when it was first ramping up and the presence was think the whole service.  There has been questions regarding the moves similarity to either Toronto or Brownsville.  The question is somewhat trivial due to the fact that Brownsville was directly connected to Toronto.

The morning meetings at Ignited are done by one of Todd Bentley’s associates. They vary in focus but all the ones I have heard had a miracle focus. The evening service is done by Todd himself.  I think he has preached for three straight weeks now.  To me, Toronto focused on the Father heart and the love of God. Brownsville focused on repentance. The meetings I have been in and seen at Lakeland were nothing like the healing conference I went to at TACF. TACF was mellow. This thing is in your face. The power is there the entire meeting. It is different than the two others in the same way they were different from each other.

The pastor of Ignigted church,  Stephen Strader, is the son of Karl Strader. When Karl Strader sold Carpenter’s Home Church, they bought and refurbished this building for the son, and another for Karl’s son-in-law. This building used to be a Scotty’s. It is not huge but it is really nice.

I know the Straders used to be AG but I don’t know if they are still affiliated but when you hear Stephen preach you can tell he is nowhere near vineyard. I don’t mean that as bad or good. They are different movements and if you are familiar with both you can tell the difference. But Todd is way more Vineyard than AG though he is not vineyard.

These days, there seems to be far less emphasis on affiliation in the renewal / revival movement.  It would seem that people are just hungry for an outpouring and would go to a presbyterian church to get it if that’s where it could be found.

Check out this picture of people waiting for the 7 p.m. meeting.  If you notice, the sky is nowhere near dark.  People are waiting to get in and there have been reports of people getting healed in the parking lot.

Time will tell the impact of these meetings but God is surely doing something.  At the same time there seems to be a move in Alabama.  They had The Call last week and David Copeland seems to be having extended meetings everywhere he goes.  The latest in Beauregard is in its fourth week.

Reinhart Bonnke Impartation Breakfast

If you have a heart for souls, you cannot help but have respect for what Reinhart Bonnke has done. (If you are not familiar with his ministry, check out this link, it gives you a pretty good idea what he is doing.) So as ridiculous as it sounds, when I got a postcard that said that he was having a special “Impartation breakfast” three hours away at 7:45 a.m. on a Saturday morning for $35 I actually went for it. I knew that this was little more than star gazing but I really did not care. The flyer said that he was going to lay hands on everyone in attendance and I wanted him to lay hands on me, even if it cost $35.

We got to the meeting and had a pretty bad breakfast. There was a stage with a podium, a keyboard and a video screen and about 500 people. I was in a front row table which happened to be right next to Reinhart’s. I was joking that he kept looking at me declaring the anointing over me and my ministry. He seemed like a really friendly guy and this was not feeling like a sham to raise money.

First up was a guy that leads worship for Bonnke’s crusades. He sang “How great is our God” and the crowd half sang along with him until about half way through. At that point everyone in the room began to shout the lyrics because the anointing of God came crashing down in the room. I was overwhelmed. It did not build up, we were not coached into it, we were not whipped up into a frenzy. We just sand a song and an incredibly powerful anointing flooded the room. this was not the gentle breeze some feel. This was not the joy thing. This was that fear of the Lord, “My God You are awesome,” Jesus is Alive and sitting at the right hand of the Father presence. Continue reading ‘Reinhart Bonnke Impartation Breakfast’
