Steve Hill, Charity James

January 16th, 2006 by Carl Thomas.

I have listened to this over and over for the past couple days listen download. How I sometimes long to be in a service that had this kind of call for holiness. One of the words we got for 2006 regarded holiness and I have been convicted yet again.

Everybody knows where the major players are but does anyone know what happened to Charity James after the Brownsville Revival (She sang Mercy Seat every night)?

Anybody know?

    Dear Charity,
Like many, many others I was blessed by your Mercy Seat singing the nite of Aug 18, 1995. I first saw it a few days ago when John Kilpatrick was on the Sid Roth Supernatural TV Show and John apparently brought this specific clip with him. I would like to get this specific clip. Any help would be appreciated. Also do you have a website with your traveling itinerary.

How cool! You guys gotta get a website to post the happenings in your ministry. I have to be honest. in response to this post I got an email stating that Charity recently had a baby but mentioned no marriage. Though they did not imply there was not one, there was no mention none the less and to be honest I cringed.

Glad to see that there were in fact nuptules and that the work of the Lord continues.

Quick question though, did Charity ever get tired of singing that song? Ever have the temptation to switch it up a bit? sing it in Spanish or Pig Latin or something?

Words cannot describe the thankfulness that I have in my heart for the blessing of being able to view one of the brownsville revival vhs tapes with Charity James singing on it. I was raised Pentecostal (still am) and I was living in PA with my husband going through such a hard and dry time. I was literally drying up and the Lord knew I was at an all time low. I was raised in church services where shouting was often and praising the Lord was open so I thirsted for that. I just so happened to meet a lady who offered a tape from the revival back in 96 I think it was to watch. After the kids were in bed and my husband was at work I put it in..we didn’t have a tv then but I had an old computer monitor and a vcp. I watched the service and tears began streaming down my face as I felt the presence of the Lord in my living room. When Charity got up to sing Mercy Seat it became so intense..that I began to weep and praise the Lord. I rewound and played that over and over again just praising the Lord and feeling like I was getting a long cold drink from His eternal well of living water. I want to thank Charity for letting the Lord use her as a vessel for His use and I pray that the Lord will bless her for her willingness. I cry every time I hear that song and it’s always a pure blessing to me. Thank you Jesus for your dying on the cross so that now WE can approach the Mercy Seat!!!

It´s strange how you can get almost everything on the internet, but it´s impossible at any price or cost to find Charity James Hubbard singing “mercy seat” in any shape or form (CD, DVD, MP3, Streaming, whatever) live from Pensacola in the 90´s. The links presented in this page does not work.

Its also impossible to find her and her husbands new record “destiny”.

In the 90´s I remember, for some reason I don´t know, I was crying everytime I heard her sing that song.

I am trying to locate this same song. I had never heard until this week when my girlfriend, Chery, sung it to me acapella. It made me cry. She had heard it at Brownsville Revival. I would love to bless her with this song. We had talked about what it meant to her and I know this would be a tremendous blessing to her to play at home, church, work and on the road. Thank you for your ministry because she has been a blessing to me! Be blessed.

I just want to say thank you to Charity. I was also around 5 or 6 growing up in the brownsville atmosphere and my all time favorite was always the mercy seat. This song has stuck with me all these years and now i sing it for others. So thank you Charity for giving of yourself.

    Hey Doug,.

The comment you heard was true as of about 3 years ago. We no longer live in North Carolina anymore. There is a video of Charity singing “”Mercy Seat” that has been posted on YouTube from 1994. We will be posting a very updated video, within the next couple of days.

    Thanks, Jeremiah

Hi Jeremiah, thank you for your responce. It has been a while Since the revival has been over. It’s like no one remembers. I miss the nights of the presents of the Holy Spirit. I hope you 2 are doing ok. What is it like to have been a part of God so much and now it’s over. I hope you, Charity and family are taken the things from the revival and spreading them. I hate that you moved to OK. I live in Sanford and would have loved to have met both of you. I have copies of the song and others of Charity while I was attending the revival. I am 52 now but I believe that God will restore my days of youth. I had gotten wounded while in the army and was healed at Brownsville. I was in a wheel chair from the accident, and now I run every day and ride long distance bike. I know it is hard raising a new family. Well all of God’s blessings on you all and hope to hear from you again. Charity has a good network of people that know her. It seems her singing days are not over yet.

    Charity & Jeremiah,

I’m so glad we found you. The revival has been on TV lately because of the dream Pastor Kilpatrick had last year. He was recently on “The Supernatural”, which I guess is a repeat but the first time I’ve seen it. Well, they showed clips of the Revival and my husband and I were brought to our knees with “Mercy Seat”. Since then, it seems every evangelist is talking about the “Mercy Seat” and their singers are singing it. No one sings it like Charity.

My husband and I would like to buy both your CD’s if you would e-mail us the price, we will send you the money. If you are ever preaching in the Ocala, Florida area, please let us know. We would love to come see you.

God Bless you and your baby,

    Mary & Chuck Vanasse

Hello Jeremiah and Charity, I’ve already sent an e-mail requesting CD with “Mercy Seat” on it. I just read all these “Blogs” I guess that’s what these are. I am not very computer savvy. I just wanted to say “Bless your heart Jeremiah, the majority of all comments are for Charity and her song “Mercy Seat”. Were you at Brownsville and did you sing? One of the comments asked for an itinerary of your ministry dates, is there a web site for this? Where is Steve Hill now? Do you know?
