Quick Question About the International House of Prayer
August 15th, 2008 by Carl Thomas. You know how Dell hires a firm in India to do the customer service or Ford pays folks in Mexico to assemble cars?
If a church supports a Missionary Intercessor at IHOP are they outsourcing prayer?

I’d hope they’re not outsourcing it, but enabling the generation of prayers in addition to their own.

Oh yeah, there are lots of ways that IHOP and the local church can work in tandem, it’s pretty exciting to see the possibilities. IHOP tends to increase the passion and effectiveness in prayer for those churches it’s connected to.

They are outsourcing prayer, but unlike Ford and Dell, hopefully that doesn’t mean they aren’t praying themselves.
I don’t think any pastor would consciously decide “They’re praying for us, so we don’t have to”
Plus, from an financial standpoint, its not the same because they are in the U.S., so there aren’t issues of it weakening our economy (I know thats not your point, so I’m joking here)
I think another interesting question is:
If a church supports an native missionary (like Gospel for Asia) are they outsourcing evangelism?
(My answer is yes and that every Christian should be involved in this kind of ‘holy’ outsourcing!)

@ sean Quite the response. I made the post tongue in cheek but it has been thought provoking.
