Owen Hurter - Worship leader

Whatever happened to Owen Hurter after Toronto?

If anybody Googles Owen’s name and comes up with this site, let me know what he is doing.

I went to a conference in Toronto a couple years ago and the the worship was so anointed. By that time I had watched well over a hundred services online and was looking forward to seeing it live. This was what I think was the pinnacle of worship at TACF with Kelly Warren, Owen Hurter, Jeremy Sinnot (who is still there) and Robert Critchy all leaders there. There were times when all of them would be on the worship team at the same time.
A friend of mine went to a conference a few months later and I gave her some money to bribe the soundman to get me a mp3 of worship. The cd’s that Toronto was putting out never had the long worship sets and that’s what I wanted. Unfortunately he wasn’t at that conference.
Anyway, SARS came and Owen went which leads me to, “Where are you?”

    Owen, now lives in Detroit, Michigan where he co-pastors a church and still travels all across the US doing huge worship conferences and seminars.

    Well that’s a big 10-4 cb (get it?)

    I thought that I saw he was a part of Metro Church ther in Detroit but there is nothing on their site about him.

    Anyone have any more info?

    Hi Carl, Actually Owen has been in Detroit since Oct. 2003 (because of SARS) as a youth pastor. In October 2005 the Lord moved Owen out of Metro Detroit Christian Church (still, his home church) and into full-time music ministry - he’s jumped off the cliff and having a blast travelling. He actually gave music up for the two years pastoring and now the Lord has brought it back - concerts, small conferences and teaching on worship and hope! How do I know? I’m his wife :) So, our website is almost up and running and hopefully soon you can google it and see what we’re up to! Thanks so much for the encouragement!

    Howdy,

    How can one see his schedule? My wife and I were totally blessed by Owen’s music and his heart. We too, saw and heard him for the first time in Toronto in 2000 or 2001. We would love to attend one of his services or conferences. Thanks for the blessings.

    hey, Owen Hurter eventually became the Youth Pastor for Metro Detroit Christian Church near Detroit… after a few years there, Owen and his family moved to North Carolina and picked up another job in a church down there… he’s got a myspace account: http://www.myspace.com/theowenhurtherband
