Jay West - New Wine

Got this email on the New Wine list.  If anyone knows anything about Jay West and his ministry (including a link to his website and itinerary) I would appreciate a heads up.

First of all - thank you to everyone for your prayers - some of you were contacted again on Sunday when it was determined that I would stay an extra day for an additional service of refreshing - let me begin as there is a lot to share -

I was invited to this Vineyard Church by my good friend - Bill Jackson - Bill wrote the book, The Quest for the Radical Middle - A History of the Vineyard - and he was a good friend and ministry companion of John Wimber along with previously ministering with such folks as Randy Clark and Peter Wagner - the pastor  for the church was also a good friend of John Wimber and had previously ministered with John Arnott -

On Saturday, Bill Jackson taught his seminar on Ministering Like Jesus - this was an excellent presentation with great ministry of which I was blessed to participate in - I would highly recommend this seminar to any church and would be happy to put you in touch with Bill Jackson - or JAX as he likes to be called - For the Omaha folks, I have talked to Jax about bringing him in to lead such a seminar here - it was excellent -

On Sunday morning, the pastor ministered, but I was asked to help pray and to share words of knowledge - the words of knowledge this weekend were very accurate and right on target for many people - I was thoroughly blessed and simultaneously blown away by what the Lord was telling me and showing me - and how He was demonstrating the Kingdom to me - what a joy and honor - Usually for me, I get words of knowledge with just thoughts or an impression - but in addition to that, one of the words came through to me with words that were super imposed over the words of the song on a power point - I could clearly read an additional message and got up and shared it and many came forward for ministry regarding that particular word as it spoke directly to several people.

Sunday afternoon, I ministered and shared a very quiet topic to the church leadership on Waiting on God - again, there were many words of knowledge that God gave to me, that ministered the Life of Jesus to others and promoted the Kingdom.

Sunday evening was an unplanned revival service as the wind of the Spirit literally blew through the building and touched many people.  After ministering and preaching probably the strongest word I have ever given, I invited those who wanted to come forward and re-sing a powerful warfare song we had sung previously in the service - the whole congregation came forward and sang and shouted that song for a substantial amount of time - and then they sang it again - the Lord was in the place and the anointing was all over that song - it was the most amazing thing I had seen - even compared to my five trips to Pensacola and other revivals that the Lord had blessed me to participate in, this song was powerful - they sang and sang it, almost like a confession or profession of what they believed was
happening to their church.   They were militant  and almost violent about
it - truly an amazing sight.  In my opinion, they out sang the worship team - I could hear the congregation way above those that had microphones
-

At this point, I felt led to offer to pray for people who wanted their prayer language expanded, or for folks who had never prayed in tongues before to come to one side - almost every one moved to that side - and the ministry was phenomenal - many, many people had their language multiplied and expanded, while still others who had waited for years for a prayer language, got it that night  - it literally exploded in many people - Keep in mind too - and this will mess up your theology - some of these folks had never been prayed for to be filled with the Spirit, and they still prayed and/or spoke in tongues and a prayer language -

People began to fall under the power of God, some laughing some weeping - some just in awe - There were many healings, and we released the people to pray one for another - powerful things began to happen to those who were praying and also being prayed for - there are just too many testimonies - at one point the drums and Congos were the only instruments being played - probably for at least 30 minutes - this was a spectacular time of intercession and warfare for their church and city - There were frequent times that I could not get to individuals to pray for them - sometimes being 10-15 feet away so I would just pray from a distance and kind of just toss my hand in the wind of the Spirit towards them - many testified to me that they saw me do that and heard what I said, and for about 2 -4 seconds they felt nothing - and then it was like a mighty wind that hit them and knocked them to the floor - People were singing, rejoicing, and worshipping in deep honor and adoration with many other forms of the Spirit as they were led - I was told to try and structure the service to last two hours, but it went nearly five hours

After the service was finally over, some wanted to have another service the next day, so after consulting the Pastor and Jax, who was there with me and providing just as much ministry, we decided to go an extra night - this was just a spontaneous decision - so I changed my airplane reservations to stay an additional night.

On Monday Night, more people came to the spontaneous service then had come the previous evening - some had driven over 60 miles - It was led by a different worship band,  - During Worship, there was some prophetic words and then Jax fielded some testimonies as people wanted to share -

I was then invited to come up and teach - but as I walked up, I had a strong leading to have the congregation sing in the Spirit suggesting to them that worship was not over - so we sang and sang - which was then followed by a message in tongues and an interpretation - which then led to what I can only describe as prophetic exhortations - from about 15 different people - I then felt like there were some passionate prayers that others would author - and probably another 15-20 people prayed out very passionate prayers with some singing, and others almost chanting - it truly was a God thing - the pastor then came up had a short prayer and asked me to teach - but my planned message was immediately changed to some spontaneous thoughts out of Joshua 1 and 3 about transition, and letting go of the past and running with what the Lord was doing now  - then Jax came up and led more ministry and many people prayed for others and similar things happened as they did on Sunday evening, only just little quieter - the Monday service went a little over three hours -

If you are ever in Southern California and looking for a good church, I would recommend this one!

So I thank all of you who prayed for me and ask you to continue as over the next three weeks I have a very busy ministry schedule - which is updated below - I certainly appreciate all of you and simply ask you to continue in your prayers - they are vital and things really do happen when God’s people pray -

Sincerely,
Jay West
