Actually I think that the spoof is edifying in the sense that it highlights the dangerous nature of the trends in the Emergent movement through the use of comedy. It is leading a segment of a whole generation into the abyss.

Basically I think the church is at a major crossroads. God has given everyone a chance to embrace the Holy Spirit in the past century and now the window is closing. Movements like the Emergent church, evengelical ferver for Eastern Orthodoxy, and other such trends are signs of people looking for something "more spiritual" while avoiding the real encounter that has been offered in so many different forms in the history of the Pentecostal/Charismatic movement.

Our answer is not to compromise with it, but to reassert and reignite the fire that started Pentecostalism in the first place.

You are right. There is nothing edifying about this video. It is a spoof of Rob Bell.

for the record, I am not a fan of the emergent movement. I actually think sound doctrine is good, that there is a hell, and that Jesus is the only way to the Father.

Carl,

After watching the video, I'm still trying to guess what you think about the emergent movement.

Maybe I missed the point. What exactly was the video trying to say. Everything is OK? Or, we are making fun of everyone who thinks everything is ok?

I just fail to see anything edifying about the video, sorry. It just seems silly to me.
