Day 31

January 6th, 2006 by Carl Thomas.

January 6 Psalm 31, Proverbs 31, Revelation 3
(Psalm 31) We need to righteousness and hate lawlessness. It is not enough to say that we love God. We also need to hate the devil. The is a cleansing that happen when we resists sin. There is a liberation that happens when we let go of the sins that so easily ensnare. Like David, I have hated those who regard useless idols. I put my hope in God.
(Proverbs 31) The beginning of this chapter gives really good advice to men. We have to remember not to give our strength to things that will be our downfall. I have in the past done just that. It is so easy no to see the destruction that lays right around the corner but we need to operate in wisdom and discernment. It is not enough to know, we need to act like we know. We need to conduct ourselves in a way that displays that we are citizens of the heavenly kingdom and that we are sons of the most high. We are not orphans and we should not act like we have to scrape by. We need to conduct ourselves in righteousness.
(Revelation 3) There will come a day that we will dine with Jesus and I am so looking forward to it. I have a heavenly hope and it cannot be shaken. No matte how the enemy tries to trip me up and no matter how the world tries to make me stumble, I have my eye on the prize in Christ Jesus. I am going to savor every bite at that banqueting table. I am going to enjoy the conversation at that feast. I can imagine the lighting and the place settings and the furniture and how the room will be adorned. I can hardly wait to see how we are served, possibly by the angles. I wonder if He will bless the food before we eat. Though every good and perfect gift comes from Him.
