Day 30

January 5th, 2006 by Carl Thomas.

January 5 Psalm 30, Proverbs 30, Revelation 2
(Psalm 30) When we make it through the fire we can know that we will stand in our prosperity. The Lord does not take us through the desert for nothing. It is to develop the character that will stand on the day that we have the prosperity and in the natural do not need God. The wise man does not look at the natural for signs. He knows the way of God and is not moved.
(Proverbs 30) This Agur guy knew something about humility. The very first things he talks about is his lack of knowledge. God gives grace to the humble.
(Revelation 2) Jesus tells both the compromising and the corrupt church to get things right or He is going to show up in a major way. This is not how you want to meet the Lord. You do not want to meet Him in His wrath. There is a whole movement out there now that has completely tried to eliminate whole parts of the ministry of Jesus. That God does not expect righteousness. That He is some happy go luck guy skipping through heaven just as pleased as punch that anybody would choose to accept His invitation for everlasting life. The truth is that there will the great and terrible day of the return of our God. That he will come with a sword in His hand wearing a robe dipped in Blood and on that day people will not be mocking and spitting on Him. And I say even so, come Lord Jesus come.
