Day 26
January 1st, 2006 by Carl Thomas.January 1 Psalm 26, Proverbs 26, Acts 26
(Psalm 26) David pleads for the Lord’s hand. In his prayer, he lists the reasons why he should see the Lord. I think it is ok to do that. To hold God to His word shows faith in His word. But it also is for us. Doubt comes in like a flood and we can often beat it back by meditating on the promises of God. So while the psalmist counts the reasons that God should be faithful he is building faith that God will move on his behalf.
(Proverbs 26) There is more hope for the fool than the prideful. The prideful never know that they lack. They never know that they come up short. They never listen. They cannot be taught. They never serve. They never grow.
(Acts 26) Paul had every reason to think that he was above the situation that he was in but did not. Instead, he used every single situation and setback to proclaim the Gospel to whomever would listen. Glory be to God! Paul even told the overseer that he wished that he would be just like himself. This is boldness that we rarely see nor hear of. It is unique because of the spirit it was done in. Agrippa was not offended but almost converted.
