Presidential Primary Pause

This has nothing to do with Revival or anything else spiritual for that matter. I just thought it was funny.

Can the Sheep Handle the Truth?

You would be surprised how much your people will love you when they find out you are human.

Chris Elrod is posting a series telling how things almost came undone for him and his ministry last year.  Here in the blogsphere I am one step away from Benny Hinn’s microphone.  You may be one step away from mega-greatness on your blog also.  Chris has lots of great things to say on his blog.  But that does not mean that the same is manifesting right now in his, or my, or your ministry (or life for that matter).

I can just imagine what this will do to his church.  Now that he has decided to be who he is, the church ought to explode with people who need a pastor like him.

It’s like that church planting adage.  The people you are going to attract look just like the guy you see in the mirror.  Luckily for me I like the person I see in the mirror.  That and my family is incredibly diverse.

(btw . . . if you know Chris, could you tell him to get a new pic for his blog header?  The one he has looks like he just ran out of zoloft).

Black Pentecostal Discussion

You may not agree with everything in the video but I think it is a really good beginning of discussion of Pentecostalism in the Black community and how it relates to voting patterns.

New Church Plant Idea

What if I decided to launch a ministry and just sought the anointing of God.  Could the manifest presence of God coupled with signs and wonders draw people to Jesus?

Just asking.

2008 Resolutions

I know.  You are too spiritual to need a resolution for 2008.  I am not.  Just like Easter is a good time to reflect on the resurrection and Christmas the advent, the beginning of the year is a good time to take a survey of your life and the direction you are going.  So here are a few things I want to resolve for the new year.

  1. I am going to be more hungry this year, both in the spiritual and natural sense.
I heard it said that we don’t see food multiplied in America because Americans are not hungry.  Think about that for a minute.
  2. I am going to preach on the road more this year.
I feel called to bring revival.  I love preaching to the people God has joined to me but I know God has called me to preach on a circuit as well.  I am going to put myself out there this year and try to preach revival more places this year than last.
  3. Be more purposeful in my sanctification.
I want the Holy Ghost to search my heart and show me what needs to get cleaned up.
  4. Pray in tongues more.
I am in revival.  Need I say more?

The Podcast

the mission podcastHere is a link to The Mission podcast. Each week we are going to post some of the most interesting things going on around The Mission. Last week I talked about how we got to where we are. This week I did an interview with Sergio, our worship leader.

If you don’t use iTunes you can listen/download the files here.

I have other announcements to make but all the cool new ministry people always do a teaser before announcements and since I want to be cool like them I will have to wait.
